Theme: "Jesus Walks"

I. Nature of the Project
• The 11th annual Gospel Fest event for the organization was originally created to enlighten people about the power of Jesus Christ through song and praise in the Hilltop area which spreads from 6th Avenue to South 27th Street and from Sprague to Tacoma Avenue.
• The Gospel Fest focuses on empowering and assisting residents to effectively improve their quality of life by using song as a unifying element. It also provides an indicator to how the Christian community can better understand how they can serve residents of the Tacoma communities. The Gospel Fest creates a fun atmosphere that will encourage both new and old members to interact with each other by participating in the program. The event will encourage individuals, families and organizations in the Tacoma Communities to work together to create a positive environment where illegal drug and gang activity will not flourish.

II.    Mission
• Gospel Fest is committed to building strong relationships with Youth Pastors in the surrounding areas and defining the role that Hip Hop has in shaping the young generation. Gospel Fest has the understanding that music is a major unifying factor that guides our Youth of today. Gospel Fest strives to use music to bridge the gap between the older and younger generation while breaking down stereotypes.

III.    Theme "Jesus Walks"
• The theme was inspired by The song "Jesus walks". This song is a hit new single that talks about the unconditional love that Jesus has for the Christian Community as well as secular. The writer of the song, Kanye West, is using his commercial success to send a message to his audience. He has recently been on BET's top ten gospel countdown and been #1 on KUBE's Countdown for weeks. We believe this convergence will spark interest in the Christian market as well as the secular market, which we are trying to relay the message to.

KUBE 93 Involvement (Biggest Radio Station in Seattle)

• We would like KUBE to support the festival through a live booth set up @ the event and radio advertisement through sponsorship. We believe KUBE will be interested in sponsorship because of the success of the song "Jesus Walks" and the concept of giving back to the community.

All Weekend Gospel Fest Program

1. Panel Discussion (Friday, July 27, 2004)
• Because of the involvement of a conscious rapper, P1 Station, City of Tacoma, corporate sponsorship and involvement of the Christian community there will be some controversial issues that need to be expressed which leads to our reason to add a Panel Discussion to the Gospel Fest.
• We believe that a panel consisting of a Preacher, Conscious Entertainer, Gospel Entertainer, Political person, non profit organization and a Corporate Business will be beneficial to the overall event. This will give the community and its representatives an opportunity to talk more about the role they play in shaping the Christian community. This panel will be called Town Hall Meeting with the topic "Jesus Walks" and will be held on Friday.

2. Gospel Fest (Saturday, July 28, 2004)
• Concert in park.

3. Church in the Park (Sunday, July 29, 2004)
"Sundays Program" will encourage people that have been touched by the message Friday and Saturday a chance to get the main course of their spiritual meal by attending a church service in park conducting by the Youth Pastor.
